Usually the hotel does not limit the number of people staying in a room but the breakfast voucher is only for 2 persons.

They usually charge about 15Baht for my for 2 kids age 11 and 12, free for kids age 4 and 8.

Hi,

The road from Hatyai to Phuket divided into 4 section, the all the road without street light except near the town area.

Section 1 - Hatyai to Phattalung - it is a dual carriage highway
Section 2 - Phattalung to Trang - Mixed of hilly and normal terrain - single lane
Section 3 - Trang to Krabi - normal terrain - single lane
Section 4 - Krabi to Phuket - normal terrain - single lane

I presume you drive from Singapore, putting up a night in Hatyai is strongly recommended as there are a lot of activities you can do for the whole family after a long day driving. Even you can push all the way to Krabi the same day, you might not have the energy to do anything the next day.

It is always more dangerous to drive at night due to poor visibility and tiredness.

If you really want to push for it, I suggest you start your journey midnight from Singapore ( easier to drive at night at Malaysia highway), expect to reach Hatyai about noon. Take a good rest and continue to Krabi, before sun down, you should have cover the hilly area near Trang and Krabi is not far away.

Hope it helps.

Have a safe journey and enjoy your trip.

Hi ...We(my lady and our 3 yr old) are from Singapore. Every year we go for driving vacations in different parts of the world. Till now we have done the whole of Malaysia, parts of Australia, NZ, Whole of Bali and partly Vietnam. We wre doing south Thailand in September. We reach Hatyai in the night and given the short vacation of 8 days I have to start driving towards Krabi that night. The question is how safe is it? Till now we have always avoided driving after sundown and this will be the first. How is the hill terrain to drive in the night? Are there enough road light? And the road safe?
Will appreciate your comments and any useful tips.

Yes, you need the registration card.

Officially you need to produce the original copy, but I have seen some using photocopy as well.
